Flew JetBlue out of JFK back to SFO on Friday. Here was the departure sign from a nearby gate:
The waiting area was mostly empty, which is not surprising as the service just started.

It seems that you can’t actually buy a ticket for this flight. The JetBlue site doesn’t list Havana as a valid destination, and interestingly enough, neither do Expedia or Orbitz.
Oddly, you can check its status on jetblue.com if you simply type in flight number 8801 on the check flight status page, but none of the menus for purchasing tickets show HAV as a valid destination airport.
I’m guessing there’s a standard industry database these carriers all subscribe to that has airport information and codes, and whoever publishes it hasn’t updated it to include HAV.
I believe you have to buy through an approved travel agency, Jeltblue is acting like a charter airline for these flights.
